The Times Hits 100,000 Page Views in 43 Hours

EditorialI’d like to share this good news with all of you.  I’ve just been informed by our Technical Team that the GrandRiverTimes.net website has had over 100,000 page views since going online 43 hours ago.
This is celebratory news, so I’m giving the staff an extra break to hit the bathroom, grab another coffee, really whoop it up.  But a 20-minute break today, instead of the usual 10.  Enjoy, the clock starts now. Tick-tock, tick-tock…
It’s been a wild ride these less than two days, not least in crashing our server on the first day; and we’re working on a story right now that could be shocking!  It could even require multiple exclamation points in the headline!!  But it brings out ‘the other stuff’, too. One woman posted our Pronto-Pups photograph with an extremely dire warning to all her Facebook friends that the story is obviously a hoax, so don’t click on this story, it probably contains a virus.  Scaring people without checking anything first? We’re taking knocks for “fake stories”, while others post “real” warnings accusing us of spreading viruses, without any shred of evidence whatsoever – a couple minutes of research would have been too much hassle, I guess.  I can assure all our new readers, however, that our staff photographer is a complete professional, not a hacker. A nerd, even, sure, but definitely NOT a hacker. Please don’t believe smears like that.  And c’mon, we’re looking to build up an audience, starting from zero, people who might ‘get’ or enjoy what we’re doing – hacking and destroying your home network and deleting all your files is so far down our To-Do list that I seriously don’t think we’ll ever get to it…
Thank you, new friends and readers, for helping us get going so quickly.  All you supporters are very much appreciated, especially when “The Gullible” start storming the castle…thank you.

You are brilliant. Please investigate reports that the Musical Fountain is scheduled to be dismantled and replaced with a Walmart.

Thank you! And thanks for the tip, too. We’ll get Sandi Dune to investigate that, she LOVES the Musical Fountain. Although, the idea of a Musical Walmart, that could put on an entertaining show, PLUS give people the chance to load up on a bunch of cheap crap…it’s not all bad if you think about it…

Baba Booey! (lots of Howard fans here). One poor chap doing photoshop work, and taking enough knocks for it that we think he needs to attend a three-day seminar somewhere…Thanks.
